File System

I was wondering if someone could help me to know in advance, if I've already posted files via PP using the "file system" storage method, will these files continue to work if I change the storage system to "Database"?
I did not know there was an option originally and I see that it's recommended to use the database.

With my quite fresh installation it didn't worked.
When I switch to the "Database method" for storage and when I click the old files it shows a database error message.
NB : Switching back to the "File system method" makes the files available again.
It would be good to have the functionnality of copying the files from one system to another when changing the method.

I admit that I'm lazy for not checking right now but I remember that it worked one way but not the other:
let's say you had some files in the file repository, switching to the database support would have both old and new files work, but switching from database to file system, only the new files would work.
Michel seems to say that it doesn't work if you switch from file system to database, so I suppose that it works from database to file system then. To be checked obviously.
And as Michel, it would indeed be nice to have the ability to convert files from one system to the other when switching.

I just tested this because I am wanting to swap from database to file system and it seems that with 0.8.0.2 it doesn't work either way. I am really not sure what the best way to make this migration happen is, but I am concerned that in time my database will get unmanageable for any kind of backup scenario so I really want to switch to file system while I still only have a relatively small number of files uploaded.
