I still consider time tracking a major portion of any development process. I like to be able to manage a team as well as progress made via a timeclock. I'm still using AC 0.7.1-TT branch until PP can find a way to do Time in a nice way.
there is no time-tracking in ProjectPier right now. Honestly, that's all I can tell you because I have never looked at time-tracking in activeCollab since I personally have no use for it (or I just don't know it).
Could you detail what you are expecting? Since I'm not in need of that, I'm not sure what you and Todd are looking for... I suppose you would have a way to enter time spent on this or that task, with the ability to have a report for the whole project and maybe report on all your projects?
When you do that, do you also want the ability to log the history of the different tasks?
What I mean is that I can see having the tasks associated with a total time that you increase everytime. But you could also want to see a history of time spent on all the tasks of one project, and maybe all the tasks of all projects...
thankthanks for your reply, I'm looking to do time tracking in a similar way
that basecamp does. Time tracking based off of tasks in the project. I've
actually taken the most recent projectpier release and re-hacked the old
ac timetracking into it. Its working great so far, i'de like to put out
the release for testing once I finish creating new theme (making one

Time tracking will be added in the next release - we were planning on using some of the old time tracking code as you have. If you'd like to get involved with the development (either with the time tracking or the new theme) feel free to contact me directly. It would also be best to subscribe to the development mailing list and check out the development documentation. You can also attach your patch file to a relevant issue for review.
If there was one additional piece of functionality I could wish for... it would be time-tracking too.
However, I have also considered using freshbooks which does offer this functionality along with ProjectPier for the collab needs.
Since time-tracking is closely related to invoicing and expenses... it might make sense keeping the time-tracking in an invoicing system.
