ProjectPier 0.8 Release Candidate 1

Finally it is here.  The release of ProjectPier 0.8 Release Candidate 1.  It can be downloaded here.

But first, a little info about what's going to happen next. Release Candidate 1 is now in circulation. You should download and install this if you want to test it. Please leave your feedback in the forum here and post any serious problems in the tracker. The week of September 17th we will review the comments and issues and move forward with the final 0.8 release as appropriate.  If you are using ProjectPier or it's predecessor in a production environment, you might want to wait a week or so for the final release of version 0.8.

ProjectPier has a whole new skin. A complete list of changes is available here. We've made some changes I think everyone will like, including optimizing the subject lines of notification emails for threaded reading and including the full body of messages and comments in the notification emails.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their hard work on this project.  Thanks!

Congratulations on the 0.8 release candidate!

My only criticism is that there doesn't appear to be any time tracking functionality, such as that implemented by those in the ActiveCollab community and subsequently in my own spin-off, RailsCollab.

Still, it's great to see work still being done on ProjectPier. I wish you guy's all the best for making future releases of this great Open Source product. :)

Thank you James.

Our goal for this first release was to start the project and set up its infrastructure. Also we wanted to get a first product out soon, so there are not that many new features. After 0.8 final we will discuss the next steps and features. Time Tracking seems to be a very wanted feature ... we will take a close look towards your spin-off ;-)

Congratz to every one for this amazing application.

I really liked it because is really use to use, like basecamp, and not like dotproject.
But one thing i really miss is a better report system, like a gantt graphic or a callendar with the milestones and task. It would be great for the project managers. Oh yeah, a timetrackker would be grat too.

Thanks for this great app.
