Applying Patch to Use Dropdown on Themes

Hi! a very dumb person here.
can anyone help me on using the patch posted on the marine theme? i'm testing it on my winxp using apache2triad, can you tell me how can i apply those patch? and in the future, if i install this on my shared hosting account, how can i apply those patch? is there any manual like ,,
erase this line... and replace with this line...
or can anyone share the patched file? pls... anyone??? if its possible that the patched file that the drop down works on all themes...

You can find more information about patch files and how to create/apply them at http://projectpier.org/patch
Please note that patches are used in development and testing for new versions of ProjectPier so it is not meant for end users for use in production environments unless you are very familiar with your system and confident about the effect that patch will have on the software.
The patched files are posted here (look for patched_files.zip).
But like ryan said, those files may not work in future versions /other installations, so be careful.
Worst case: open the patch files in a text editor. It should be fairly easy to understand. it says the files, the line number, what needs to be added, and what needs to be removed
